Reviews for The Unwanted Slave

Review #197 . This book was rated 5 Stars by this reviewer
One of this best stories I've read this year!

Review:

What I liked:

Recently revised, what was a good story is now fabulous! Everything is richer: writing, characters, actions, emotions, and Africa.
Areas that could be improved: Nothing. It's time to publish this pup.
Review #39 . This book was rated 4 Stars by this reviewer
You won't get Katie out of your head for weeks!

Review:

What I liked:

Great story that gets in your head with her Irish lilt as she tells her story first person. And what a great story she has to tell!
Areas that could be improved: It could be longer. It was over too quick.
Review #7 . This book was rated 4 Stars by this reviewer
Being inside the head of Katie O'Reilly is a treat and an adventure!

Review:

What I liked:

What I liked about the book: Normally I don't like 'first person' stories, but this is the exception to my rule. Being in Katie's head is an Irish Delight. Her life is so unique and outlandish, with problems most of us will never have, but once she gets in your head, she'll be hard to let go.
Areas that could be improved: Areas which could be improved: If not for a second book I would say the story needed to be longer. The two books together make a fine read.
Review #28 . This book was rated 3 Stars by this reviewer
An extraordinary tale with extraordinary characters!

Review:

What I liked:

There is much to like about this novel. The characters are wonderful, the storyline different and intriguing and I found myself feeling very much like the protagonist (which tells the story in first person).
Areas that could be improved: It is a little short. I was able to read it in a single setting. When I finished, I wasn't ready to let this wonderful character go. Fortunately the second book is in the library. However, you might want to combine them and make them one book of a longer size.
