Reviews for The Adventures of Xavier Thorn and His Troublesome Assistant

Review #144 . This book was rated 5 Stars by this reviewer
Sherlock Holmes meets his match in an amusing mystery

Review:

What I liked:

As a Sherlock Holmes fan I loved Xavier who has similarities to that great sleuth. Add a cheeky new assistant that turns out to be a young woman in disguise and the books turns delightful. Great characters, dialogue and mysteries. LOVED IT!
Areas that could be improved: A couple of typo situations, but otherwise: a bloody good read!
Review #102 . This book was rated 5 Stars by this reviewer
Fabulous Fun! Wonderful characters, delightful dialogues and great mysteries.

What I liked:

This is my favorite of any novel I've read so far. I absolutely love the characters, their constant bickering and their unreasonable positions. The four mysteries are intriguing. The references to Holmes (which annoys Xavier) are amusing.
Areas that could be improved: Needs another proofing, but otherwise I could not put this book down and I want to read more books with these two characters.
Review #103 . This book was rated 4 Stars by this reviewer
A sleuth so impossible that you have to love him.

Review:

What I liked:

This story has adorable irrascible characters, interesting cases that are solved with deductive reasoning and a love affair that seems doomed by a confusion of gender and the fear of giving up their current lives.
Areas that could be improved: Some of Victor's deductive reasonings are less that perfectly clear. The explanation of why Charles sent the letters needs to be explained better. For those of us who have read Lady Anne, the case of Lady Anne has a bit of deja vue, but it also had some new info so that was good.
