Midway through the novel unexpectedly turns dark as the reality show is hijacked for internet porn feeds. Jane’s sister coerces her into joining a ‘bachelor hunt’ reality show. Jane accepts, certain the bachelor will send her home the first evening. Unfortunately, the producers find her irreverence and disinterest ‘great TV’ so they manipulate events to keep her in Dapper John’s ‘harem.’ Determined to get off the show, Jane tries to help John find the best ‘wife’ material in the sorry lot.
