Xavier Damond is a two thousand year old vampyre. He meets Diana Simon while hunting for his nightly meal. She is broken-hearted and wishes to die; he is more than willing to oblige her. At the first taste of her sweet blood, he realizes she is unlike other humans. Instead of draining her, he carries her home and makes her his captive.
