The $25.00 membership fee allows a member electronic access to each novel in the club’s library for one year beginning the day of enrollment as a member.  The novel will be delivered on screen as an Adobe PDF file.  To save it to your pc, simply click ‘File’ on your browser commands and select ‘Save As’ and chose a place in ‘My Documents’ on your PC.

Consider all materials and images on this site copyright protected whether declared so explicitly or not.  Membership gives you no rights to the materials other than reading them for enjoyment.  You may not distribute copies of the PDF file to others nor copy and reproduce any portion of the novels.

Members are the only people who have the ability to review the novels.  Besides giving the authors excellent feedback on what works and what doesn’t, reviews do impact the ranking scores and thus result in a novel’s rise or fall within the ranks.  To prevent abuse in the ranking process, a member must download a novel before they can review it and they can only have one outstanding review for any book.    However, members can edit or update a past review as often as desired.

Memberships should be considered a ‘single person’ enrollment.   During the enrollment process both the age and preferences of the member are obtained.  In order to properly restrict and protect children and youths it is imperative that adults do not share a membership with those under the age of 21.  If you chose to do so, then you must enter your youngest child’s age as the date of birth. 

About the information gathered during enrollment:  No information gathered during enrollment will be sold or provided to other companies.  The information is collected solely to provide you with a personalized reading experience and to prevent minors from reading inappropriate material.  If you object to providing your actual birth date, then provide an approximately correct date slightly younger than reality. 
         
You will receive emails alerting you to new novels that are being featured.  If you do not wish to receive the emails, simply contact webmaster@bloodygoodread.com and ask to be removed.
 
It is possible, on occasion, that the site will incur technical or system difficulties.
The member indemnifies and holds New Author Online LLC and BGR management harmless of any and all claims for damages and/or losses caused by technical difficulties on this site.

Some users may also experience trouble downloading books due to the security programs on their PC.  BGR will try to provide guidance, but bears no responsibility in the resolution of these issues. 

This site is optimized for viewing in the Internet Explorer Browser Version 6.0.  While effort has been made to make it compatible with other less used browsers, no assurances are given that a member with older or alternative browsers will be able to view all pages in an optimal manner.  However, if a user does incur a problem we would like to be contacted so that we can attempt to fix the issue.  There is no assurance that we can resolve the issue, so members are encouraged to view the various pages of the site before joining.  After a member had downloaded a book from the library, technical difficulties are not considered grounds for a refund.

 
Neither the Bloody Good Read Book Club nor its owner: NewAuthorsOnline, LLC is responsible for the content of any novel included in the library.  Nor is any promise made as to the quality or quantity of novels available. 

The membership fee is due upon enrollment and is not refundable. 

This site is intended for adult readers. 

However BGR does attempts to protect children and youth from excessive violence and explicit sexual content by restricting download of novels that are rated inappropriate for their ages.  However, for this feature to work, it will require the parent’s assistance and cooperation.

Protecting your children:

1. Prevent minors from reading novels with restrictions of 4 & 5 that you download.  Use log in and passwords the minors in your house do not know to prevent them from entering under your name.  Secure your novels on your computer in a password protected site for you exclusively.  (See your PC’s help instruction on how to do this).

2. We do not recommend that you buy children their own membership, but if you do, you must use their date of birth during enrollment..  (If you are concerned about personal information being gathered, feel free to alter it by a month or days.  We only use this date to calculate the viewer’s age and thus determine whether a specific novel can be accessed.  If you cannot afford individual memberships, then use the youngest family member’s birth date as your control.  However, this could severely restrict your viewing capabilities. 

3. We recommend parents take out a membership and then download and review books before allowing children to read them.  Ultimately, only you, the parent or guardian, can determine what is appropriate for your child.  If you believe that your child’s age does not properly assign the appropriate restriction, you may contact us at authors@bloodygoodread.com and we can tighten the restriction further.  Note:  We will not make the restriction more lenient, only more restrictive than that which the date of birth would suggest.

4. Provide immediate feedback if you believe a particular book on this site has been inappropriately rated.  We are attempting to walk a dual path of providing our authors freedom of expression and protecting our youth.  Authors are asked to rate their own novel and in certain circumstances, it is possible the readers may disagree with the rating.  Complaints should be made to authors@bloodygoodread.com and we will reassess the book’s rating.  If we agree with your assessment we will alter the book’s restriction rating.  If we do not agree, you may tighten the restriction on your child’s membership.

5. This library is intended for adult readers.  We cannot promise an abundant selection of novels for children to read in this library.    Since children are the most restricted group, they naturally will have the least selection.  The quantity and quality of books for children will naturally depend on how many authors submit work in that category.  There is no assurance that any novels will meet the restrictions.

6. Current restriction ratings and assignments based on age (determined by birth date provided):

Note: Each Category may read all categories = or < than it’s number.

1. Category 2: All ages under 16. (Virtually no sex or violence)
2. Category 3: Ages 16, but under 18 (Allows violence, but limited sexual content/no explicit sexual content)
3. Category 4: Ages 18 but under 21 (Allows violence, sexual content, and limited explicit sexual content)
4. Category 5: Above 21.  (No restrictions-may read all books in library which could include excessive violence and moderate explicit sexual content.)  This site does not contain pornography or obscene materials.
